[DF 2013] Group 6:Wedding Skin






由四面體結構發展,創造能貼合人體活動的禮服、構造設計。

利用吸管作為基礎桿件,再以C型金屬環作串接,使單元與單元能自由活動。

四面體以邊接邊、點接點兩種方式鍵結,使構件能配合人的行動貼合表層變動。


It's a dress creation that can fit the Wearer's body when he/she moving.
It's also a kind of Structural design based on Tetrahedron structure combinition.
Straws were used as the main material in this structure, and they were joint by some C-shaped metal rings.
This way, each Tetrahedron unit can move easily.
These Tetrahedron units connect with each aother by two ways,edge to edge and point to point.
Therefore, this component is capaple to fit the wearer's clothes and change with movement.

Case Study


voltaDom by Skylar Tibbits, Lecturer, Department of Architecture
Location: Passageway between Buildings 56 and 66
A vaulted passageway inspired by the vaulted ceilings of Gothic cathedrals.  Curves within curves emerged from an innovative fabrication technique that transforms complex double curved vault construction to that of simply rolling a sheet of material.

Concept                                                             

we are Inspired by the Balanus and its ability of  fitting on the surface.In order to simplify the structure and the entire relationship of each pieces ,by rolling single piece of material which is able to be bent into a specific shape,owning thecurvatures by itself.

Grasshopper Programming I

a single form unit is lofted by two circles on a vertical axis
and trimmed by a internal box; three parameter to control its form:

1.radius of the lower circle

2.height between two circles
3. radius of the upper circle


the grasshopper program contains two typical form:
1.a single form unit /2.surface to morph



the second part of the grasshopper program is to morph the form unit on a rhino surface

In order to make every single parts could be smashed successfully . 
We has refined our program to the second stage,with an eye to making sure that the :

1. The original unit form would be trimmed twice
   by the trim box (side part) and the trim plane (top part)
2. Parameter redefined:
   -Lower circles radius ∝ 1/Height
   -Height ∝ 1/Upper circle radius
3. Frame wire system created

[DF 2013] Group 3: Skin Texture





嘗試以金屬或彈性材質控制布料,並應用在作品上。作品將擁有可互動的特性,會依照使用者的行為而變化,變化根據材質與材質間的特性相互激盪而產生,布料的紋路與變化將出現不可預期或更佳的狀況,也因此將帶給使用者不同以往的觸覺或視覺體驗。

[製作過程]
以黏膠塗抹於布料上,並藉由塗料的劑量差異而使布料的彈性得以被控制,藉此控制布料的形狀,但最終因布料與塗料的結合度太差而以失敗告終。
以木筷固定於布料之內,藉由拉扯布料使木筷的形狀與布料產生強烈形變,最終因形狀無法被有效控制而失敗告終。
以鐵絲製作骨架,並將布料纏上,最終發現布料因為與鐵絲相斥而產生有力且有趣的摺皺且形狀是可被預期且可被控制的。

Skin Texture的運作主要依靠兩種單元相互配合而成,單元系統可分為布料與斷面單元。布料單元為皮層系統,斷面單元則是骨架系統,兩者相互配合,並以斷面單元系統控制皮層系統。

[提案實作]
斷面單元系統主要負責將布料單元與人體進行銜接,因此斷面單元須符合人體尺度及考量適當的結構強度,以體格最粗壯的組員為尺度參考,並雷射切割出適當的斷面使單元可以順利的套上手臂。在反覆嘗試出適當尺寸後,將布料單元的壓克力棒置入斷面單元,並藉由壓克力棒與布料的相互拉扯創造理想的曲面。
